How to Download Facebook Videos on Android

Your Android browser can save Facebook videos directly. Paste the link below, pick a quality, and the MP4 lands in your Downloads folder. No app needed.

Works with links from the Share button, including fb.watch and /share/ links.

  1. Link recognized
  2. Getting post details
  3. Finding available qualities
Usually takes 3–6 seconds

Before you start

  • An Android phone with an up-to-date browser such as Chrome, Samsung Internet, or Firefox.
  • The link to a public Facebook video or Reel.
  • Enough free storage for the file. Long HD videos can take hundreds of megabytes.

Step 1: Copy the video link in the Facebook app

Open the video or Reel in the Facebook app. Tap Share, then Copy link. The link is now on your clipboard.

Step 2: Paste the link into FBDownload

Open this page in Chrome and tap Paste next to the link field. If Chrome asks to see your clipboard, allow it. You can also touch and hold the field and choose Paste. Then tap Download.

Step 3: Choose a quality and download

When the preview appears, tap the quality you want. Chrome shows the download in the notification area while the file transfers, and a message when it finishes.

Step 4: Find the video on your phone

Tap Open in Chrome's message, or open the Files app and go to Downloads. On Samsung phones the app is called My Files. Gallery apps such as Google Photos usually show downloaded videos in a Download folder.

Saving photos and audio on Android

Photos and ZIP archives download to the same Downloads folder. Most file managers, including Files by Google, can extract a ZIP with a tap, and Audio only (M4A) files play in any music or media app.

Troubleshooting

  • The download does not start. The browser built into the Facebook app may block downloads. Open this page in Chrome or another full browser instead.
  • The video opens in a player instead of saving. Go back, touch and hold the download button, and choose Download link.
  • The preview shows an error. The post is probably private, restricted to a group, or deleted. Open the link in an incognito tab; if Facebook asks you to log in, it cannot be downloaded.
