Full size, not the feed thumbnail
The image your browser shows in the feed is a small, heavily compressed preview, and saving it with a right-click gives you exactly that. FBDownload asks Facebook which sizes exist for the photo and offers the largest one. Facebook compresses every upload, so this is the largest copy Facebook has, not the photographer's original file.
Supported Facebook photo links
facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=<id>andfacebook.com/photo/?fbid=<id>— the classic single-photo permalink.facebook.com/<page>/photos/<ids>— a photo on a Page's Photos tab.facebook.com/share/p/<code>— the share-sheet link for a post, including photo posts.
Download several photos as one ZIP
For posts with several photos, you'll see them all in a grid (up to 20). They start selected, so uncheck any you don't want.
Then press the ZIP button below the grid. Its label shows how many photos you picked. Each ZIP holds up to 20 photos (200 MB max).
If the preview has been open for more than ten minutes, paste the link again before downloading.
Limitations
Only public photos work. Photos in private albums, closed groups, or profiles that are not public cannot be reached. Paste a post or photo link. Full albums aren't supported. Photos arrive in the format Facebook stores, usually JPEG.
Facebook photo downloader FAQ
Do I get the original resolution?
You get the largest size Facebook publishes for that photo, which is usually much bigger than the feed thumbnail. Facebook re-encodes uploads, so it is not the camera original.
Can I download all photos from a post at once?
Yes, up to 20 photos from the post you paste. Every image starts selected; uncheck the ones you don't want and download the rest as one ZIP of up to 200 MB.
Can I download a whole Facebook album?
No. FBDownload only lists the images in the single post you paste. It does not crawl albums, profiles, or Pages, and it does not accept batch lists of links.
Are profile pictures supported?
Yes, if you paste the public photo permalink of the picture. FBDownload cannot fetch a picture from a profile URL or a username alone.
What file format are the photos?
Photos download in the format Facebook stores them in, which is usually JPEG. The ZIP keeps those files unchanged.
