About FBDownload
FBDownload is a small, independent tool for saving public Facebook videos, Reels, and photos. This page explains how it works and what it will never do.
Overview
What FBDownload is
FBDownload.cloud is a free web tool for saving public Facebook media for personal use. It is run by an independent operator and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Meta Platforms, Inc.
It does one thing: it turns a public Facebook link into a file you can keep. There are no accounts, no subscriptions, and no apps or browser extensions to install.
How it works
From link to file
When you paste a link, the server checks that it points to Facebook and asks for the same public details a logged-out visitor would see. It then shows a preview card that lists every file Facebook publishes for that post.
When you press a download button, the file is fetched from Facebook's servers and streamed straight to your browser. Separate video and audio streams are joined without re-encoding, and any temporary file is deleted when the transfer ends.
Boundaries
What FBDownload will never do
- Ask for your Facebook password or sign in on anyone's behalf.
- Bypass privacy settings, login walls, or Facebook permissions.
- Download Stories, private posts, or media from closed groups.
- Keep copies of downloaded files or a history of your downloads.
Using media responsibly
Your responsibility
Only download media you have the right to download, such as your own posts or content whose owner allows it. Respect copyright and the privacy of the people who appear in the media. The Terms of Use explain acceptable use in full.
Privacy
Privacy in short
There are no accounts and no Facebook login. Request logs hold only hashed identifiers, and page views are measured with Google Analytics. The Privacy Policy explains what is processed and for how long.
